Summer is just around the corner, and we want to make sure you don’t miss out on one of Alberta’s greatest traditions – summer markets. Take a trip just west of Edmonton to the Tri-Region and find an eclectic mix of farmers’ markets, community street markets, marketplaces, public markets and artisan fairs.
Carvel Station Farmers’ Market
Returning for its third season, the Carvel Station Farmer’s Market takes place Thursdays from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m throughout summer 2017. The Carvel Station Farmers’ Market is a regional staple, located in Parkland County. If it’s handmade, homegrown, or locally produced, you can expect to find it here.
With new items vendors and food trucks each week, each Thursday is a unique experience
52nd Street Marketplace
With an indoor market open year-round, and an outdoor market running from May-September, the 52nd Street Marketplace is your hotspot for talents and collections from local vendors. Located in the heart of the Village of Wabamun, this market is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with other times available by appointment. Relax with a coffee and fresh goodies made daily at Jingles café and bakery, and enjoy the vintage style and cottage-like feel while you shop.
Community Street Market in Stony Plain
Each June and September, One Man’s Treasure team’s up with the Town of Stony Plain to host an outdoor market (pictured at top) filled with over 100 booths of true treasures. This market is packed with food, fun and entertainment, scheduled for its Spring sale on Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. With items ranging from antique, to vintage, to new, there’s a treasure for everyone just waiting to be discovered.
The Artisan Affair
The Artisan Affair is an annual event that is taking place this year in Stony Plain on Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. On the hunt for the perfect one of a kind item? Look no further! This event is a grand collection of painters, quilters, jewelers, potters, and photographers (just to name a few) who offer a unique experience filled with original, handmade creations. Open rain or shine, this affair is an outdoor event with no admission fee. So, dress for the weather, and be prepared to shop!
The Country Market at Aspen Grove Nurseries
Hosted by Aspen Grove Nurseries, The Country Market is where garden centre meets market. The County Market is open during the month of May, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Love animals? Aspen Grove Nurseries is sanctuary for farm animals, and encourages visitors to stop by and enjoy “Picnic with the Critters”, meaning a fun-filled day awaits you at this market!
Seba Beach Farmers’ Market
Held at the Seba Beach Heritage Pavilion, the Seba Beach Farmers’ Market makes for a beautiful drive. Open throughout the summer on Saturdays until September 2nd, rain or shine. The Seba Beach Farmers’ Market is full of local vendors with everything from the home grown to the home made. Open from 10:30a.m. – 12:30p.m., be sure to make an early day trip and catch all the great vendors.
Spruce Grove Public Markets
Located right in Columbus Park – the heart of Spruce Grove’s City Centre – the monthly markets are shaping up nicely. Join the amazing fun Sundays July 9th, August 13th, August 27th and September 10th from 11 a.m. – 4.p.m.
Jam packed with fresh produce, vendors, crafts, artisans, live music, food trucks, face painting, sparkle tattoos, balloons, popcorn and tons of fun activities – there’s sure to be something for everyone!

Spruce Grove Farmers’ Market
Established in 1977, this market’s market provides homemade, home grown, and home baked items to the community. Vendors from all over the area help to provide their growing customer base with unique, hand crafted gifts and tasty homemade food. This market is open every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Combining regular vendors and newcomers, Spruce Grove Farmers’ Market provides a wide variety of interesting items with a fun and festive atmosphere.
