The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour rolls into town December 30th – 31st. It’s a two-day hockey extravaganza of a weekend happening at Agrena; with a family friendly festival on day one and a double-header hockey viewing experience on day two, featuring a live broadcast by hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone. Get into some cool pick-up games, try your luck at the Stow ‘n Go challenge or watch the hockey acrobat Paz juggle everything hockey-related while standing on top of a net. There’s local live music on deck and Ryan Smyth (yes, the #94) will be on hand for meet-and-greets. For every hockey fan, what’s better than watching the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Vegas Golden Knights, followed by the hometown Oilers versus the Winnipeg Jets on New Years’ Eve?
Enjoy a classic night in an amazing setting, join the party at the New Year’s in Carvel! event. It’s a semi-formal with dinner, cocktails (cash bar) and a dance to follow featuring special guests, the Satellites. Cocktail hour starts at 6pm and dinner begins at 7pm. What a night this is going to be!
Stony Plain is bringing back its annual NYE celebration at Heritage Park. It’s a free for-all-ages event with some awesome activities including a bonfire, face painting, carnival games, outdoor skating (weather permitting), and a photo booth! That being said, what would a New Years’ Eve celebration be without fireworks and live entertainment? They’ve got that planned too! By the way – did we mention the entire night is free? It’s the perfect night for anyone looking to load up the van and go on a family road trip!
Whichever way you spend New Year’s Eve in the Tri-Region, we hope you have a wonderful night and a fantastic 2018!
